Besides stating the obvious about an unfair war, and about the slaughter of the Palestinian people, I have to say that I don't care that much this time about the attack in Gaza. I am quite certain that nothing can come out of it that could benefit neither the Israeli nor the Palestinian people.

There is absolutely no possibility that Israel would attempt to recapture Gaza. On the contrary, such conflicts only strengthen militants like Hamas. There is also no possibility that the Palestinians could gain something out of this conflict. Hamas' blind rockets can never push Israel to a retreat, and definitely do not help them towards Israelis accepting a possible Independent Palestinian state.

The whole conflict looks like a political game by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. With this war "Bibi" is attempting to strengthen himself ahead of January's elections in Israel, just like Ehud Olmert did in December 2008, before his scandals chocked him up.

Besides the internal fronts though, Netanyahu is attempting 3 strikes in 1 go internationally. Firstly, the attacks come as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced that the Palestinian Authority wants to present a bid for non-state UN membership. Who could vote in favour, when rockets come out of Gaza and even reach Tel Aviv?

Secondly, Netanyahu wants to test the waters with Egypt and its new President Mohammed Morsi. This is a very big challenge for the almost 40-year old truce between the 2 Middle East neighbours, but I am almost sure, that Egypt would do nothing to pick it up and somehow intervene... Lastly, though the far right Israeli government is sending a message to  America. The message says that even if Mitt Romney was not elected as President of USA - the candidate that Netanyahu obviously supported - 'we as Israel will do whatever we want, and you President Obama can't stop us, whether we slaughter Gazans, or build new illegal settlements in West Bank and East Jerusalem'. There is no point in mentioning that if any other country in the world attempted to do what Israel does, it would already have been bombarded by NATO...

Since everybody is quite sure that Obama and Morsi will do nothing about the attack, and that the Palestinian statehood issue will not go away, but only will be delayed, there is absolutely no interest in this Middle Eastern conflict. I am not going to follow the news with passion about this, because that is what Bibi wants. I don't want to play his game that will have as a result the death of hundreds maybe thousands of innocent people, not to mention that this will include both Israelis and Palestinians.

The only thing I am going to say though is towards Israeli Jews. DON'T FALL FOR THIS. DON'T VOTE FOR NETANYAHU AGAIN. You deserve better. You deserve politicians that can bring peace and hope to the Middle East, - not a representative of the militarist lobby who cares more about creating war, than about major social issues which are choking up Israeli citizens, like food and fuel prices and unemployment. CHANGE your morbid political scene once and for all.

PS: Some believe that Israel is trying to drαg Iran into this conflict. I am sure that this is not the case, as no matter how dumb Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is, he wouldn't fall into such an obvious trap...

The crimes associated with waging aggressive war, laid down in the Nuremberg Principles and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome_Statute_of_the_International_Criminal_Court are clear.
“If any person, in furtherance of a state policy, orders the use of force to attack members of a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, that person and everyone who takes part in the attack is responsible for the consequences, breaks international law and, if it results in the deaths of innocent people, commits the universal crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, aggression or conduct ancillary to such crimes”.

Nuremberg Principle III states, "The fact that a person who committed an act which constitutes a crime under international law acted as Head of State or responsible government official does not relieve him from responsibility under international law."
Nuremberg Principle IV states, “The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him
